It sounded almost too simple to be effective.
No expensive products. No complicated routine. Just… ice. Every morning, on my face.
I kept seeing people talk about it—how icing your face can reduce puffiness, tighten the skin, and give you that fresh, awake look. It felt like one of those trends that’s either surprisingly effective or completely overhyped.
So instead of guessing, I decided to try it myself. For a couple of weeks, I made it a habit: every morning, before anything else, I used ice on my face.
Here’s what actually happened.
The Routine I Followed

I didn’t overcomplicate it.
Each morning, I’d take an ice cube, wrap it in a thin cloth (because putting it directly on the skin can be too harsh), and gently glide it across my face for a few minutes. Mostly around my cheeks, under my eyes, and along my jawline.
Some days I used cold spoons instead, especially for the under-eye area. The goal wasn’t to freeze my face—it was to gently cool the skin.
It took less than five minutes. That’s it.
